Orlando is a teaser for the theaterpiece “Orlando” by Toneelschuur Producties

role: creative direction and production engagement

Orlando is a character who lives for three centuries and undergoes repeated transformations during that time—changes in environment, social class, role, and identity. From a searching young nobleman to a successful writer, Orlando continuously adapts to the evolving norms and expectations of his/her era.

The versatility of the character Orlando is showcased by wearing costumes inspired by different eras. Costume designer Rebekka Wörmann actively sought clothing that transcends conventional gender fashion. By using both extremely slowed-down and accelerated images, the aim is to give the viewer the feeling of being carried through time.

Cabaret Siberia is a teaser for the theaterpiece “Cabaret Siberia” by Toneelschuur Producties

role: creative direction, graphic design and production engagement

Enchanting performance about the art of survival and survival through art

Europe, the late 1930s. Two famous entertainers shine on stage, blind to the ever-closer threat. In their world of magic and entertainment, they feel untouchable until reality catches up with them and they are deported to a Siberian labor camp.

In this teaser, Jochem and Klara explore the many faces of identity and appearance.
In front of the mirror, they shift from their neutral, everyday selves to their glamorous public personas, and finally to their raw, weathered forms.

The concept is built around reflections and transformations. About how we see ourselves and what we choose to reveal.
Reality and façade blur; Jochem and Klara move between the ordinary, the glamorous, and the raw.
A play of mirror images, champagne, and earth reveals the fine line between shine and decay, between who we show and who we truly are.
